The Lawson R-XIV School District is seeking an outstanding educator to lead our Agriculture Education Program, which began in the 2024–2025 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to help design, implement, and grow a new program while building a strong foundation for long-term success as it enters its third year. The position includes a stipend for FFA Advisor duties and an extended contract for the required summer responsibilities related to the agriculture program. The agriculture education position may include teaching students in grades 7–12. The district will consider all qualified applicants. Our goal is to hire the best candidate to guide the program's continued growth and success.

About the District

Located in Lawson, Missouri, Lawson High School serves approximately 360 students in grades 9–12. Lawson R-XIV is committed to high academic expectations and collaborative instructional practices. The successful candidate will be a valued member of a strong building team focused on student achievement and continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive agriculture education program

• Provide high-quality instruction aligned with state standards

• Serve as FFA Advisor, supporting student leadership and career development

• Collaborate with building and district teams to support student success

• Assist in shaping curriculum, facilities use, and program vision

Qualifications

• Missouri Teacher Certification in Agriculture Education, or ability to obtain appropriate certification

• Strong instructional leadership and collaboration skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• High level of technology proficiency, including web-based software and interactive whiteboards

• Successful completion of a background check (required)

Compensation & Additional Opportunities

• Paid stipend for FFA Advisor duties

• Extended contract for required summer responsibilities related to the agriculture program

• Potential to pair with extra-duty assistant coaching positions, if desired
